NRES 325: Natural Resource Policy and Management (3-credit undergraduate course)
This course (required for NRES majors) surveys policy across multiple levels of US government (federal, state, and municipal) as well as in relation to nonprofit organizations and collaborative partnerships; we also assess US policy in the context of international environmental agreements. The first half of the course covers fundamentals of US NRE policy, including the historical and constitutional basis of government authority over land; the second half dives into specific policy topics.

NRES 340: Environmental Social Science Methods (3-credit undergraduate course)
This course (required for NRES majors with a concentration in Human Dimensions of the Environment) is designed to introduce undergraduates to conducting research in environmental social sciences. The course addresses the basics of research, including the theory that informs social science research and the ethics of working with human subjects, followed by methods of qualitative (i.e., interviews) and then quantitative (i.e., surveys) data collection and analysis. Each student writes a proposal for a social science research as their final product.
